A Cool Tool & An Awesome Giveaway...

all thanks to Terry over at http://www.tailknottr.com/ and his cool little tool for tying an insane amount of awesome knots!!! Terry sent me one of these little beauties a couple of months ago...and I used it for a good couple of weeks to get a good feel of it!!! It was easy to use and awesome for tying an insane amount of knots that I have never been able to easily tie before...this little tool is a MUST HAVE for every tackle box. It is lightweight, strong, durable, and rustproof. SERIOUSLY guys...look at the tech stuff on this little thing...
"It is engineered to produce rapid and simple knots. As well as splice line and more. In addition to tying knots, it will cut line (including braided line) with the built in line cutter, it has a built in bottle opener, and built in eyelet for attaching to a zinger or other retractable device. Most anglers habitually will use less than a half a dozen knots which they will usually tie by hand. Now with the help of the Tailknott'r© knot tying tool you can quickly learn to tie many more effective knots quickly, and easily but more importantly stronger knots."
Some of the cool 35 plus knots that this can help you tie are...
-Short Shanked Hook knot
-Nail knot loop
-Surgeons loop
-DB looper
-Larry's loop
-Loop connection
-Laromar
-Attaching mono to flyline
-Attaching to leaded line

  2. Here are the knots I use most often depending on the connection: Palomar, Modified Albright, Modified Snell and Rapala. In addition to the Modified Albright I also use Uni-to-Uni or the Blood knot. Curious as to what knots can be tied using this little gadget.

  7. Mostly I use the Palomar knot. This is a cool looking tool. I have a lot of trouble tying knots because of my hand injury so this could be really useful.

  9. Hmmm... interesting. I'm a bit skeptical, but am interested to get my hands on one of these little tools to see how helpful it really is.

I use a lot of braid, so my favorite knot is the palomar. But I still probably use the improved cinch knot the most.

  10. As a flyfisher, I use the double surgeon's knot for tippet and the Orvis knot to tie on the fly. Double nail knots come in handy, too. I'd love to give this tool a try, and open beers with it if nothing else!!

  11. Well, Lizzy, this useful little tool and your praise of it has me hooked! Over the years, I have tied fairly regularly, Nail Knots, Surgeons Knots, some Rapala Knots etc. Your right, everyone should have one in their tackle box or vest.

  12. Thought I commented on this already... this tool looks very interesting. I regularly use surgeon knots and improved clinch knots along with a nail knot to join line together.

  15. First time reading your blog...I love it so far! My favorite knot is the improved clinch because it was the first knot I ever learned as a child.

  16. My favorite and the knot I use the most is called a palomar knot. It was originally used for braid because as you know braid will cut itself. What we have found id this little knot is stronger than any other knot we use, even on mono. You can see it on www.gigharborfishing.com.

    Lizzy you kick ass!!
