this is a great line for me right now...it about sums up the way I have been feeling lately and the pep talk that I have been giving myself on a daily basis. This blog has always been the MOST fun for me to write, but lately I have found myself...well...just not writing like I should. It isn't because I have not been fishing...because I have been. I just...have been doing...nothing much really...LOL :)
Well...that isn't entirely true ;) I have been working on a few lists lately. First of all, I have been working on my list to Santa. Everyone knows how early I get a start on this list...so October is actually kindof late for me...LOL!!! The second list is something new that I really ADORE. I saw this on another lady's "design" blog (yes...I read blogs that aren't about fishing...sometimes lol), and I immediately knew I needed to do this list for myself. It is called a 30 x 30 list and she is accomplishing all the "to do's" by her 30th birthday next year. Now...I have already reached that ripe old age, so I changed my list to 31 x31. This is a list for the simple pleasures in life...the everyday things we always want to do but never force ourselves to take part or pleasure in. I am also writing a before I die list...but that one is larger and grander, and to be completely honest, I am even more excited about my little list...the 31 x 31. It is this list that I feel will bring me out of my little blue mood and will help me appreciate the smaller things in life...like writing for this blog, my friends I have made here, and fishing. :)
I will post those little lists here later...but onto the fishing stuff. Today, I have just one simple question for you...traditional casting reel or spinning reel??? The other evening I went fishing with my cousin. I have mostly always used my baitcaster reels, but he was using a spinning reel. I tried it out, again, for the first time in years...and I didn't love it. The motion was awkward after years of using my baitcaster. I do understand the benefit of both for the different sizes of fish and types. All I want to know is...which do you prefer??? Maybe I should give spinning reels another try??? What do you think???? What is your favorite??? ;)
Happy Tuesday All!!!
LIZZY aka The Fisherbabe
Lizzy, I have to say that I love my Spinner cast...however I got bitten by the Fly Fishing Bug and now I love the feel of the sensitivity of the rod...and catching Bass..walleye etc. Keep Smiling..
ReplyDeleteMy bait rods (surf and sweet) are spinning reels, so is the ultralite...but when I'm throwing lures I like baitcasters....someday I'm gonna learn to fly fish, in fact I need to make a list like yours (only older ;) and put that on it :)
