Last night, I decided to drag the fisherhubby over a couple of streets to try up a lake that is smack dab in the middle of the city :) It's an insanely popular lake for all ages, species, shapes, and sizes, and I adore just hanging out over there. However, although I have thought of fishing it quite a few times, I have never actually done so.
SOOOOOOOO...last night I packed up my tiny, little, itty, bitty Plano "car case", my ugly stick, and some worms and headed over for an hour right before dusk!!!
This is a photo of the box I use for my "car case". I love it because it is small enough to hold all the essentials I need for casting a line and a bobber :) All I have to do is dig up a worm and I am set!!! Fits right in my floorboards and even under the seat if needed!!! :) And...well we all know...you can't beat a plano...well...anything!!! :)
Anyways...I LOVED IT...it was the most beautiful evening, and the hubs and I each even caught a sunfish or two!!! Mine was bigger than his...just sayin ;) I didn't get any pictures of my cute little fish BUT I did get proof that I was actually at a Lake LOL ;)
I hope to get out again sometime this week and this weekend...and here's hoping you are all finding time to pack up your own car case and hit the road!!!!

**"Car Case" is my own personal term for a tiny tackle box that I keep in my car that holds all the mandatory small items needed for casting a line. It is not a term used my Plano for this particular box. However, I do recommend making your own car case...you know...just in case the mood strikes and you KNOW it will!!! ;)
Well, well, well - the Fisherbabe FINALLY gets out fishing!! That's a neat little urban lake you have. Need pictures of the fish next time, no matter how small. You've seen how small some of the fish are that I take pics of!!

ReplyDeleteGreat idea on the car case. I've been pairing down to some essential lures now that I'm shore fishing and tubing. Not a bad idea to keep it in the car in case an opportunity presents itself.
I've got a ceiling rack in the car to hold several different rods, that way when the mood hits I am prepared for almost any kind of fishing. =_)
