I have a friend...and I ALWAYS disagree with him. Mostly, I just do it cause it's fun...sometimes I disagree with him even when I agree with him...and I do it just cause it's fun ;) It all started back in law school when I was ALWAYS right, but I digress...
Last night was no different. We were talking about Cabela's and how much I can't wait to go and buy some new lures and some new paint. You see...I have been hearing all kinds of great things about HOT PINK lures and jig heads for fishing at Lake Waskiaowaka...so I have decided to paint a few cool NEON, HOT PINK spoons for my trip. Today seems like the PERFECT Sunday to do it!!!
Anyways...to make a long story short...we were talking about fishing and my friend says "Man...I wish they wouldn't have put the Cabela's in the ghetto here in St. Louis." And I said...
"HEY SHUT IT...don't you know...it doesn't matter where the eff the Cabela's is...it's always worth the trip. I mean...I would totally go to the ghetto to get my HOT PINK lure paint!!!"
;)
Luckily...my Cabela's is in Surburbia and I don't have to negotiate any type of ghetto warfare to engage in the buying of Pink paint. So today I am off to find it...and I can already see it in my mind...YES that's RIGHT...
HOT PINK HAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! W00T W00T...
Stay Tuned...Pictures to follow this evening!!!!
Happy Pink Lure Painting ~

**DISCLAIMER: The Fisherbabe, in no way, shape, or means intended to portray "the ghetto" in a negative light. I am certain that "the ghetto" is a lovely place, and may even include lovely, little fishing holes of which I am unaware. I truly hope no one is offended by my use of the phrase "the ghetto"!!!!!!!! ;)
:) Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteUm, I've been to the Cabela's in St. Louis and it is NOT in the "ghetto." If someone is using that word to describe the area, he/she obviously doesn't know what a ghetto is. Plus, I find the nonchalant overuse of the word pretty naive, to put it nicely. That is all. Fish on; tight lines!
ReplyDeleteKristin...As my disclaimer stated, I was not trying to be offensive or naive (as you nicely put it) in using the word ghetto. I have never been to the STL Cabela's, but I am sure it is lovely. I was just trying to be funny about the lengths at which I would go to to get pink paint...You apparently do not think my attempt at humor is funny. I apologize that you found my use of the word ghetto offensive, but we were really just being silly and meant no harm :(
ReplyDeleteHey, you were just repeating what your pal said. I'm not offended. Just think it's important to point out when a word like that is inaccurately used. It is interesting, though, that it occurred to you to add the disclaimer ...
ReplyDeleteCabelas is like a vacation destination for the Dad crew...we spent a night there on the road (in our TT) and since then they want it to be part (overnight wise) of any trip in that direction.
ReplyDeleteThankfully the one we go to is in a nice area :)...Had to say it, LOL ;)
LOL Dennis!! Thanks for cracking a joke and lightening the mood...You are a PAL!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love trips to Cabela's myself!! We have one right up the road and I have been to about five different ones so far!!
thanks for the comment ;)
