  3. Hey Lizzy,

Favorite reel eh? Hmmm??...I would have to say the STRADIC CI4 it's sleek, sexy, light and strong. Everything you want in a woman...oh I mean reel. The CI4 was launched last year at ICast 2009 and won the New Product Showcase Award for 09/10. It has Shimano's patented "Dyna-Balance" system the "Paladin" gear technology, Shimano's "Super Stopper 2" anti-reverse system which offers an angler bet hook set control. I could go on and on about the reel but if you want to know more check out www.shimano.com all I will say Lizzy, is this reel rocks. Tight lines and trophy fishing!

  4. I've been fishing Ambassadeurs for as long as I can remember, and have a reel bag full of them. I know Shimano makes an outstanding reel, but I just can't seem to drag (no pun intended)myself away from the ABU's when it comes to salmon and steelhead fishing.

Fly reels? I have a variety. While I use a Redington as my day-to-day workhorse, I do love my Orvis Battenkill on the 4-wt rod - smooth and light. For those bonefish and bigger game fish, I prefer my old Lamson LP to the others I have. Speaking of which, I need to go on ebay and look for another spool!!

  5. As a dedicated fly fisherman, reels have never been a big thing for me. Mostly I fish for trout and play the fish by hand lining, and its so rare that a fish gets me onto the reel that it almost becomes a aesthetic line storage device only. My reel for my 9.6ft rod is a Pfluegler Trion which is nice bit of kit for a good price but I can't say its really helped me land fish.

Maybe I need to start catching much bigger fish!
